Immunocytochemistry-Immunofluorescence analysis of GLO1 was performed in HeLa cells fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min. Green: GLO1 Monoclonal Antibody (GT266) (Product # MA5-31468) diluted at 1:100. Blue: Hoechst 33342 staining. Scale bar = 10 µm.

Target Information
The enzyme encoded by this gene is responsible for the catalysis and formation of S-lactoyl-glutathione from methylglyoxal condensation and reduced glutathione. Glyoxalase I is linked to HLA and is localized to 6p21.3-p21.1, between HLA and the centromere.
