Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-guinea pig serum, purified and partially purified Peroxidase [Horseradish]. Cross reactivity against Peroxidase from other tissues and species may occur but have not been specifically determined.
HRP, also known as horseradish peroxidase, is an enzyme that is commonly used in biochemistry and molecular biology research. It is derived from the root of the horseradish plant and catalyzes the oxidation of a wide range of substrates in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. HRP is widely used as a detection enzyme in immunoassays, such as ELISAs and Western blots, due to its high sensitivity and stability. It can also be used as a tracer in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) and as a labeling agent in fluorescent microscopy.
