This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the amino terminus of human SCAMP4.
PEP-0901 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20787.
SCAMPs, or secretory carrier membrane proteins, are membrane proteins that are widely distributed and play a role in membrane trafficking. Most SCAMPs, such as SCAMP1, have N-terminal cytoplasmic NPF repeats, 4 central transmembrane regions, and a short C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. These NPF repeats are likely involved in mediating endocytosis. However, other SCAMPs, like SCAMP4, lack the NPF repeats and are thus unlikely to function in endocytosis. SCAMP4 has been associated with diseases such as Neurodevelopmental Disorder With Brain Abnormalities, Poor Growth, And Dysmorphic Facies and Strabismus.
