Butralin is a selective herbicide that is widely used to control broadleaf weeds in various crops, including soybeans, peanuts, cotton, and fruit trees. Its active ingredient, butralin, belongs to the dinitroaniline chemical family, which inhibits the microtubule assembly in plant cells, leading to the disruption of cell division and growth. Butralin can be applied to the soil before or after planting, and it has residual activity that can provide long-lasting weed control.
