GAGE5 is a gene that encodes a protein belonging to the GAGE family. The GAGE (G antigen) genes are a group of highly homologous genes that are normally expressed in the testis but are also expressed in various types of cancer. The specific function of GAGE5 is not yet fully understood, and further research is required to elucidate its role in cellular processes and its potential implications for human health and disease. However, studies have suggested that GAGE family proteins may play a role in promoting tumor growth and metastasis, as well as in modulating the immune response to cancer cells.
