Western blot analysis was performed on whole cell extracts (30 µg lysate) of A549 (Lane 1), MDA-MB-231 (Lane 2), MCF7 (Lane 3), T98G (Lane 4), U-87 MG (Lane 5) and PC-3 (Lane 6). The blot was probed with Anti-AKT3 Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (Product # 703283, 1:5000 dilution) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Rabbit IgG (Heavy Chain) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A27036, 1:4000 dilution). A ~55 kDa band corresponding to AKT3 was observed in the relevant cell lines tested.

AKT3 (PKB gamma) has been shown to be stimulated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), insulin, and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1). It is involved in a wide variety of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, tumorigenesis, glycogen synthesis and glucose uptake.
