Dcp2 Antibody (A302-597A) in WB
Detection of human Dcp2 by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate (5, 15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Dcp2 antibody A302-597A used for WB at 0.4 µg/ml (A) and 1 µg/ml (B) and used for IP at 10 µg/mg lysate. Dcp2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Dcp2 antibody BL8299, which recognizes an upstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes (A) and 10 seconds (B).

Target Information
The removal, or decapping, of eukaryotic mRNA is an important step in the degradation of mRNA. Decapping protein 2 (DCP2) is the major mRNA decapping enzyme in cells. It is a member of the Nudix hydrolases superfamily of proteins that predominantly catalyze the hydrolysis of small nucleoside diphosphate substrates linked to another moiety. DCP2 is widely expressed in multiple tissues at varying levels, with highest expression seen in testis and brain.
