Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat GM-CSF. Anti-Rat GM-CSF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect Rat GM-CSF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 mL/well) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti- Rat GM-CSF (500-P225) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat GM-CSF.
Western Blot: To detect Rat GM-CSF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 mg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible development reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Rat GM-CSF is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
500-P225BT-1MG will be provided as 2 x 500 µg
The GM-CSF gene encodes for a cytokine that regulates the production, differentiation, and function of macrophages and granulocytes. The active form of the protein exists as a homodimer in the extracellular space. This gene is located in a cluster of related genes at the chromosome region 5q31, which has been associated with interstitial deletions in the 5q- syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia. Other genes in the cluster include interleukins 4, 5, and 13. The gene is involved in promoting tissue inflammation. Elevated levels of cytokines, including the one produced by this gene, have been observed in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. Mice that lack this gene or its receptor have been shown to develop pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
