PA1-4948 detects the HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase protein in HIV samples.
PA1-4948 has been successfully used in Western blot and ELISA procedures. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~66 kDa protein and a ~51 kDa protein, corresponding respectively to the two subunits of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase, in HIV samples.
PA1-4948 immunogen corresponds to the HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase which was over-expressed in E. coli as a recombinant protein.
Recombinant HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase protein (Cat. # RP-4912 or RP-4913) can be purchased for control experiments in Western blot assays.
HIV-1 reverse transcriptase is an RNA-dependent DNA polymerase of HIV-1(AIDS virus), subtype B origin. It also has RNaseH activity and is an enzyme indispensable to the reproduction of AIDS virus.
