Invitrogen
Halotyrosine, clone BTK-94C is recommended for detection of bromotyrosine modified proteins.
Halotyrosine is a type of protein modification that results from the addition of a halogen element, usually bromine or chlorine, to a tyrosine residue. This process is often a result of immune cell actions or oxidative stress. Halotyrosine residues are commonly found in halogenated organic compounds, which are natural products found in many living organisms. Research has shown that total bromotyrosine levels, a type of halotyrosine residue, are elevated in individuals with asthma but decrease in response to anti-inflammatory medications.
