Western Blot analysis of Hemopexin using Hemopexin Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-36056) at a dilution of 1:500. Lane A: Rat kidney tissue lysate, Lane B: Rat spleen tissue lysate, (Lysates/proteins at 30 µg per lane). The secondary antibody used was a Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L)/HRP at 1:10,000 dilution. Developed using the ECL technique and performed under reducing conditions. Predicted band size: 52 kDa. Observed band size: 70 kDa.

Target Information
Hemopexin is a serum glycoprotein that binds heme and transports it to the liver for breakdown and iron recovery, after which the free hemopexin returns to the circulation. Structurally, hemopexin consists of two similar halves of approximately two hundred amino acid residues connected by a histidine-rich hinge region. Each half is itself formed by the repetition of a basic unit of some 35 to 45 residues.
