Specificity: Mouse Anti-Mouse Interferon-beta (IFN-Beta) (Clone HDBeta-4A7) recognizes an epitope on Mouse IFN-Beta and binds specifically to murine IFN-Beta and does not bind murine IFN-gamma or several different IFN-alpha species (a-1,4,5 or 13); HDb-4A7 binds both recombinant and natural forms. This antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype.
Endotoxin Level: ≤ 1.0 EU/mg as determined by the LAL method. Purity: >95% by SDS Page; ≥95% monomer by analytical SEC.
Product Preparation: Functional grade preclinical antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only In vitro protein free cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
Storage and Handling: Functional grade preclinical antibodies may be stored sterile as received at 2-8 C for up to one month. For longer term storage, aseptically aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at -80 C. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
This antibody has been tested in the following applications: Western Blotting, Neutralization, Functional Assay, Blocking.
Type I Interferons (IFN-alpha/beta) are produced primarily in response to viral infection by Natural IFN-producing cells (IPCs) as part of the host immune response. IFNs can also inhibit the development of tumors. IFN-beta binding results in the activation of the tyrosine kinases Jak1 and Tyk2, phosphorylation of members of the STAT family of transcription factors, and the transcription and expression of the immune response genes. More recently, several members of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family were found to stimulate the production IFN-beta. IFN-beta is currently used clinically for treatment of tumors, infections and multiple sclerosis.
