Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-2. Anti-Human IL-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect hIL-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-2 (500-P22) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hIL-2.
Western Blot: To detect hIL-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant hIL-2 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
500-P22BT-1MG will be provided as 2 x 500 µg
Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is an immuno-modulatory cytokine that is important for the proliferation of activated T cells, differentiation of B cells, natural killer cells, monocytes and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by interleukin 4 (IL-4) and interleukin 7 (IL-7). The expression of the IL-2 gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a gene similar to IL-2 in mice leads to an ulcerative colitis-like disease that suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.
