Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence analysis using human neuroblastoma cells. Fixation involved 4% Formaldehyde for 15 min at RT. Samples were incubated with GABA-B Receptor 2 monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-45533) at 1:100 for 60 min at RT, followed by Goat Anti-Mouse ATTO 488 at 1:100 for 60 min at RT. 1 µg/mL of MA5-45533 was sufficient for detection of GABA(B)R2 in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate and assayed by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.|Detects approximately 105kDa. No cross-reactivity against GABA(B)R1.

Target Information
The multi-pass membrane protein, GABBR2, belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 3 family and GABA-B receptor subfamily. The GABA-B receptors inhibit neuronal activity through G protein-coupled second-messenger systems, which regulate the release of neurotransmitters, and the activity of ion channels and adenylyl cyclase. This receptor subunit forms an active heterodimeric complex with GABA-B receptor subunit 1, neither of which is effective on its own. Allelic variants of this gene have been associated with nicotine dependence.
