AA Sequence of recombinant protein: QPDSVSIPIT CCFNVINRKI PIQRLESYTR ITNIQCPKEA VIFKTKRGKE VCADPKERWV RDSMKHLDQI FQNLKP.
Preparation: Produced in BALB/c mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MCP-2 (CCL8). Anti-Human MCP-2 (CCL8)-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Sandwich ELISA: Assuming 100 µL/well, a concentration of 2.0-4.0 µg/mL of this antibody will detect at least 500 pg/mL of Recombinant Human MCP-2 (CCL8) when used with PeproTech Biotinylated Antigen Affinity Purified Anti-Human MCP-2 (CCL8) (500-P35BT) as the detection antibody at a concentration of approximately 1.0-2.0 µg/mL.
Western Blot: To detect Human MCP-2 (CCL8) by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.25-0.50 µg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant Human MCP-2 (CCL8) is 0.25-0.50 ng/lane, under non-reducing conditions.
This antimicrobial gene is one of several chemokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines form a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes, lymphocytes, basophils and eosinophils. By recruiting leukocytes to sites of inflammation this cytokine may contribute to tumor-associated leukocyte infiltration and to the antiviral state against HIV infection.
