AA Sequence of recombinant protein: AVSEHQLLHD KGKSIQDLRR RFFLHHLIAE IHTAEIRATS EVSPNSKPSP NTKNHPVRFG SDDEGRYLTQ ETNKVETYKE QPLKTP.
Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human PTHrP. Anti-Human PTHrP-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA: To detect hPTHrP by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.25-1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human PTHrP (500-P276) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hPTHrP.
Western Blot: To detect hPTHrP by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for Recombinant hPTHrP is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
500-P276BT-1MG will be provided as 2 x 500 µg
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the parathyroid hormone family. This hormone regulates endochondral bone development and epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during the formation of the mammary glands and teeth. This hormone is involved in lactation possibly by regulating the mobilization and transfer of calcium to the milk. The receptor of this hormone, PTHR1, is responsible for most cases of humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been observed. There is also evidence for alternative translation initiation from non-AUG (CUG and GUG) start sites, in-frame and downstream of the initiator AUG codon, to give rise to nuclear forms of this hormone.
