Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) is a plant virus that primarily infects tobacco plants but can also affect other members of the Solanaceae family. The genome of TEV consists of a single RNA molecule that encodes a polyprotein, which is subsequently cleaved into individual functional proteins by viral proteases.
