Western Blot analysis of eIF4B using the eIF4B Monoclonal Antibody (Product # MA5-37534) at a 1:1000 dilution. Lane 1: A431 whole cell lysate, Lane 2: Hela whole cell lysate. Lysates/proteins were loaded at 20 µg per lane. Secondary Goat Anti-mouse IgG, (H+L), Peroxidase conjugated at 1:10,000 dilution. Predicted band size : 69 kDa. Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.

Target Information
The eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (eIF4B) plays a critical role in recruiting the 40S ribosomal subunit to the mRNA. It functions in close association with eIF4F and eIF4A. It binds near the 5'-terminal cap of mRNA in the presence of eIF4F and ATP. It promotes the ATPase activity and the ATP-dependent RNA unwinding activity of both eIF4A and eIF4F.
