Nunclon Delta testing certifications

Plastics with Nunclon Delta surfaces endure rigorous cloning efficiency tests using cell lines chosen for their high toxin sensitivity. Every lot is tested and certified for cell growth and plating efficiency using L-929, HEL 299, V79-4, and primary chick embryo cells. In all but one cell line, this growth is assessed by the cultureware surface coverage percentage.

For V79-4 lines, cell growth is evaluated by the number of colonies formed per cultureware. For Nunclon Delta lot certification, cultureware must demonstrate:

  • Consistent cell growth over entire culture surface
  • <10% difference from the Nunclon Delta-qualified standards for L-929, HEL 299, and primary chick embryo cell growth
  • <15% difference from the Nunclon Delta-qualified standards for V79-4 colony formation
