Instruments eligible for trade-in donation

Donations impact science globally

Thermo Fisher Scientific first supported Seeding Labs’ mission in 2011, when the NanoDro Spectrophotometer trade-in program launched. Since then, the Applied Biosystems™ thermal cycler trade-in program has delivered over 100 instruments to talented scientists at 51 universities in 26 developing countries. The work and passion of these talented scientists combats hunger, obesity, pollution, and much more.

Hunger still impacts over 690 million people around the world. Providing researchers the resources to cultivate healthy crops is one meaningful way to help. Dr. Achigan-Dako’s mission is to support a stronger economy with locally grown crops.

Seeding Labs Partnership

Thermo Fisher Scientific has been supporting Seeding Labs since 2011, when we launched a NanoDrop trade-in program. As our first partner from the manufacturing industry, we recognized Thermo Fisher's commitment to global science with our 2018 Global Visionary Award. Since then, equipment donations from Thermo Fisher have been included in 60 Instrumental Access shipments. These instruments have found a productive second home at 47 universities in 25 developing countries! Thanks to Thermo Fisher Scientific, thousands of students and scientists have the tools they need to research, innovate, and discover.

Seeding Labs believes that unleashing the full potential of scientists worldwide is our best hope for fighting global diseases, feeding our growing population, and protecting our planet. Through donations they equip scientists with the tools, training, and connections they need to be on the cutting edge of global discovery.

*This promotion is open to customers in the Australia and New Zealand. Suppliers of life science products are not eligible to participate in this promotion. To qualify for the trade-up discount, customers must purchase a new Applied Biosystems™ thermal cycler and plastics bundle that is of a higher value than the Applied Biosystems™ instrument that is being traded in. Customer must request a trade-in at the time the order for the new instrument is placed. Trade-in instruments must be returned to Life Technologies within 7 days following installation of the new instrument. Trade-in and purchased instruments must be submitted on a one-to-one, trade-to-purchase basis to be considered eligible for the program. Determination of eligibility is at the sole discretion of Life Technologies. Discount will apply to orders received by Life Technologies no later than December 31, 2021, or until promotional supplies are depleted, whichever comes first. The total number of instruments donated to Seeding Labs will depend on the number of instruments traded in. Life Technologies will donate a maximum of 100 thermal cyclers for trade-in with this discount. Discount will apply to the list price in effect at the time the order is received by Life Technologies. Life Technologies will be responsible for shipping costs on the traded-in instrument. Where necessary, customer agrees to allow a field service representative to de-install the instrument from their facilities. Prior to return, customer will fully clean the trade-in unit and decontaminate it of radioactive, biological, toxic, and other dangerous or hazardous materials or substances and, if requested by Life Technologies, customer agrees to complete and return a Certificate of Decontamination to Life Technologies. Life Technologies may withdraw this promotion prior to December 31, 2021, at its sole discretion. Cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.
