This Crosslinker Selection Tool provides quick access to customized lists of Thermo Scientific Pierce Crosslinkers that meet specific criteria, including target functional group, cleavability, water solubility*, pegylation, cell membrane permeability, spacer arm length**, and packaging†.
Select the desired features to view results. Choose "Any" to see all items in a category. Search results include a list of products that can be downloaded into a PDF, with links to individual product pages. Alternatively, view the Crosslinker Application Reference Guide page or simply browse our entire line of crosslinking reagents.
*Water solubility: With very few exceptions, all crosslinkers are soluble in miscible organic solvents such as DMSO, DMF, or acetonitrile. Typical protocols involve first dissolving the reagent at 10X the working concentration and then adding it to an aqueous reaction mixture. Organic solvents are not compatible with certain applications, and directly aqueous-soluble crosslinkers are preferable in these situations. We classify crosslinkers as water-soluble if they can be dissolved directly in water or aqueous buffers at greater than 1 to 5X the concentration needed for typical procedures.
**Spacer arm lengths: These are characterized as short (< 10 Å), medium (10.1–30 Å), or long (> 30 Å).
†Packaging: Single-use indicates that reagents are available in the unique No-Weigh format, which provides 1 or 2 milligrams of pre-weighed dry chemicals in a single-use vial. Just add water, buffer, or solvent to create a working solution. Premium grade indicates packaging for applications where product integrity and risk minimization are critical. These reagents have clearly defined quality standards by including batch-specific information such as quality assurance review, lot sample retention, and change control notification (CCN), as well as an enhanced level of analytical testing and product characterization.
