Expand your laboratory testing capabilities with PCR-based research solutions to accommodate a growing number of infectious disease areas, that enable early, accurate detection and differentiation compared to traditional methods. Detection of common infectious diseases with traditional culture- or microscopy-based methods are antiquated and lack sensitivity and specificity. Real-time PCR (qPCR) is an innovative solution for detecting slow-growing, difficult-to-cultivate, or uncultivable microorganisms.
In order to effectively study outbreaks and determine disease etiology where pathogens are similar, analytically sensitive panels are needed to support laboratory research studies.
Applied Biosystems TrueMark Infectious Disease Research Panels are convenient, duplexed TaqMan assays that are performed on pre-spotted and dried-down plates that include microorganism‑specific pathogens, utilizing real‑time PCR techniques.
This enables rapid, accurate detection and categorization of microorganisms that cause respiratory, vaginal, urinary, gastrointestinal, wound, and sexually transmitted diseases, as well as antibiotic resistance research.
Our portfolio of infectious disease panels are available in predefined and customizable options. Choose from an extensive list of pathogens to create your own plate, or ten different predefined panels in several disease states, with preselected assay targets.

Implementing genetic analysis systems and solutions in the laboratory has been directly linked to improved efficiencies, cost savings, and faster time to reportable results. qPCR can detect slow-growing, difficult-to-cultivate microorganisms, making it ideal for when culture methods are inadequate, ambiguous, time-consuming, difficult, or costly.[1, 2]
