HLA Proteins and Genes. Back to Basics Series, Episode 3

HLA Proteins and Genes, Episode 3

This is the third episode of our foundational series, Back to Basics. This episode focuses directly on HLA proteins and genes. We will cover the HLA system in general: The various classes and loci of classical and non-classical HLA, their expression, and roles within the human body. Additionally, we will highlight how HLA protein expression can be interpreted from multiple viewpoints, including serological equivalents, epitopes, and eplets, plus further paradigms that decipher the complexity of HLA. Finally, we will detail the specifics of HLA genetic nomenclature and typing resolution.
