Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute recombinant human MIP-3 alpha in sterile, distilled water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Further dilutions should be made in tissue culture grade buffered solutions with heat inactivated fetal calf serum or low endotoxin BSA.
Storage: This lyophilized preparation is stable at 2°C to 8°C, but should be kept at -20°C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Macrophage Inflammatory Protein-3 alpha (MIP-3alpha), also called CCL20, is expressed in the liver, lungs, lymph nodes and peripheral blood lymphocytes. MIP-3alpha is strongly up regulated by inflammatory signals, and down regulated by the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. MIP3alpha signals through the G protein-coupled receptor, CCR6, and acts as a chemoattractant to lymphocytes and dendritic cells.
