Carrier-Free
Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. This lyophilized protein should be reconstituted in sterile, distilled water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Further dilutions should be made in a buffered solution containing carrier protein, such as phosphate buffered saline supplemented with 0.1-1.0% BSA.
Storage: This lyophilized preparation is stable at -20°C for up to 2 years from date of receipt. The reconstituted MCP-3 should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤-20°C for up to 3 months with a carrier protein. Keep freeze-thaw cycles to a minimum.
This is a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix.
