This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-52562. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
Holliday junction recognition protein (HJURP) is a centromeric protein that plays a central role in the incorporation and maintenance of histone H3-like variant CENPA at centromeres. It acts as a specific chaperone for CENPA and is required for the incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA molecules into nucleosomes at replicated centromeres. HJURP prevents CENPA-H4 tetramerization and prevents premature DNA binding by the CENPA-H4 tetramer. It directly binds to Holliday junctions.
