Reconstitution: We recommend that the vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute the contents of the vial with 250 µL ice cold, sterile, distilled water on ice.
Storage: Store this lyophilized preparation at -20°C, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the protein may be stored at 2°C to 8°C for up to one week. For long term storage of the reconstituted protein, apportion into working aliquots and store at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
The protein encoded by this gene is a proinflammatory cytokine. This cytokine can induce the IFN-gamma production of T cells. The combination of this cytokine and IL12 has been shown to inhibit IL4 dependent IgE and IgG1 production, and enhance IgG2a production of B cells. IL-18 binding protein can specifically interact with this cytokine, and thus negatively regulate its biological activity.
