The Disc-IC System is a package of two independent techniques from Thermo Fisher Scientific— discrete analysis and ion chromatography for comprehensive water analysis. Unique and fully automated, the Disc-IC System combines the power of direct measurement, discrete photometric analysis with ion chromatography to support a comprehensive water analysis workflow that offers the highest flexibility and sample throughput to reduce overall cost per analysis.
Thermo Scientific Gallery discrete analyzers are robust and easy to use, and provide parallel measurement of multiple analytes, including those used in photometric (colorimetric and enzymatic) and electrochemical (pH and conductivity) analysis. All necessary analysis steps are automated and low detection levels can be achieved.
Thermo Scientific Dionex IC systems can be tailored to meet specific anion and cation analysis needs, providing direct determination of multiple analytes in a single run, the highest sensitivity, and the ability to handle even the most challenging of water samples.
The Disc-IC System provides a true walkaway solution for comprehensive wine, beer, fruit juice, carbohydrates, organic acids, source water, process water, and waste water analysis and performs unattended large sample series analysis.
Traditional multiparameter water testing involves measurement, titration and ion chromatography methods for pH, conductivity, alkalinity, hardness, anions, and/or cations. Each test requires a separate sample and often multiple sequential steps which extends the testing time and makes the overall testing workflow complex. Multifaceted hyphenated systems need a specialist staff to run and monitor equipment, water quality testing is labor-intensive, time-consuming and inefficient. Routine water testing can be costly and time consuming for a laboratory that performs routine wet chemical and ion analysis in ground water, drinking water, sewage water and waste water analysis while experiencing increased demand for the routine analytical services.
Routine high throughput analysis
Comprehensive ion analysis
Ensuring confidence in the quality of results, the methods used for analysis in the Gallery discrete analyzers are well-known enzymatic and colorimetric chemistries optimized to the result levels established in international reference methods, US EPA, ISO, DIN, ASTM and other standard methods. The table below summarizes international regulatory approved discrete analyzer and Ion chromatography methods.
