Comparison of two different 2D protein gels stained with SYPRO® Ruby protein gel stain.

Comparison of two different 2D protein gels stained with SYPRO® Ruby protein gel stain (S12000, S12001, S21900). Cytoplasmic protein samples from either stationary phase (red) or exponential growth phase (green) cultures of wild type Bacillus subtilis 168 grown in complete medium were each separated by 2D gel electrophoresis. Both gels were stained with SYPRO® Ruby protein gel stain and imaged. The digital images were pseudocolored, warped to align the spots and digitally overlaid using Delta2D software (DECODON). Yellow spots represent proteins expressed in both cultures. Image contributed by Haike Antelmann, Universität Greifswald, Germany.
