Electrofusion of HL60 cells. CellTracker Orange CMTMR and CellTracker Green CMFDA.

HL60 cells that have been stained with CellTracker Orange CMTMR (C2927) and then mixed with WEHI 7.1 cells stained with CellTracker Green CMFDA (C2925, C7025) (top panel). Several minutes after initiating cell–cell electrofusion, a CMTMR-stained HL60 cell is observed fusing with a CMFDA-stained WEHI 7.1 cell; cytoplasmic mixing is evident by the appearance of yellow fluorescence. After electrofusion is complete, dual-fluorescing (yellow) hybrids can be easily distinguished (bottom panel). Images contributed by Mark J. Jaroszeski, University of South Florida.
