Adult zebrafish intestine. ELF 97 Endogenous Phosphatase Detection Kit.

Lightly fixed adult zebrafish intestine stained with the substrate contained in the ELF 97 Endogenous Phosphatase Detection Kit (E6601). This kit's ELF substrate yields a green-fluorescent precipitate at the site of endogenous phosphatase activity. A partially digested brine shrimp, which also contains endogenous phosphatase activity, can be seen in the bottom right corner of this micrograph. The tissue was counterstained with propidium iodide (P1304MP, P3566, P21493) so that the entire contents of the cells fluoresce red.
