LinkSeq Blood Genotyping

Fast, easy, comprehensive molecular antigen typing using real-time PCR

Thermo Scientific LinkSēq real-time PCR molecular antigen typing kits overcome the major challenges of molecular typing by increasing laboratory productivity, reducing turnaround time, and predicting phenotypes for many antigens given the common variants for those antigens.

Why choose LinkSēq for blood genotyping?

Simplicity

Fast workflow with little hands-on effort

  • 10 minutes hands-on time—simply add your DNA to the pre-aliquoted buffer/enzyme mix, add to the tray, seal, and you are done

Easy data analysis via SureTyper Blood

  • Automatically calls genotype and predicts phenotypes based on ISBT allele database and proprietary algorithm—in seconds
  • Simple data drill-down tools
  • Easy to use, intuitive interface

Flexibility

  • Broad instrument compatibility
  • High throughput to a single sample

Confidence

Accurate real-time PCR

  • Allele-specific amplification combined with SYBR Green to detect PCR products without chips or gels

Robust contamination protection

  • Samples are handled only once and then sealed in reaction trays
  • Increased sample protection as amplified PCR products remain sealed

Fast turnaround

  • DNA sample to results in 90 minutes
  • Just 10 minutes of hands-on time

LinkSēq portfolio for blood genotyping

For fast, easy, and comprehensive molecular genotyping, we introduce the LinkSeq portfolio for blood genotyping: LinkSeq ABO, and LinkSeq HPA typing kits.

LinkSēq ABO genotyping and subgrouping

ABO alleles encode the enzyme Glycosyltransferase. Many A subgroups involve a weakly expressed A antigen, which can cause discordant serological reactions in forward and reverse typing. Our ABO products offers a better solution to research these alleles by separating A1 from non-A1, B from B3, Bweak and Bel, and much more.

Coverage Includes:

  • A, B, AB, cisAB, O
  • A subgroups: A1 or non-A1, ie, A2, A3, Aweak, Ael or Am
  • B subgroups: B, B3, Bweak or Bel
  • O subgroups: O1, O2
  • Possible Bombay phenotype

LinkSēq HPA genotyping

Human Platelet Antigens (HPA) are glycoproteins expressed on platelet membranes. Our HPA assays are designed  to target both the a and b alleles for HPA-1 through HPA-11, and HPA-15.

Coverage includes:

  • HPA-1 through HPA-11
  • HPA-15
