For particle counting accuracy, calibrate your laser particle counters with Thermo Scientific Count Controls

Accurate measurement of particulate matter is essential in cleanroom monitoring across pharmaceutical, life science, aerospace, defence, and semiconductor manufacturing as well as food and beverage environments where air, surface, or liquid contamination is a concern and requires diligent monitoring.

Thermo Scientific™ Count Controls provide a comprehensive solution for calibrating and validating laser particle counters to ensure accurate results. Our Count Controls enable users to validate the accuracy of their particle counters, regardless of the brand they are using. By using our solution, you can have confidence that your instrument is measuring particulate matter correctly, avoiding potentially misleading and inconsistent data that could lead to costly and time-consuming errors.

Our Count Controls have a diameter that can be traced back to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and provide the necessary documentation and assurance required by quality control (QC) processes. They are designed to help maintain cleanrooms and ensure that they meet stringent protocols, including the ISO 14644-1:2015, ISO 14644-2:2015, and ISO 14644-3:2019 standards. These standards involve the classification of air cleanliness by particle concentration, specifications for testing and monitoring to demonstrate ongoing compliance, and guidance on the instrumentation to be used for testing compliance with ISO 14644-1.

Our Count Controls are supplied as a low residue aqueous suspension, minimising background interference and allowing for precise insight into the dynamic range and calibration of the instrument.
