Environmental analysis has changed greatly over the past few years. The lower reporting limits and wider variety of analytes that labs must identify require more detailed and accurate chemical analysis—often with shorter timelines than ever before. Has instrument design kept up with these demands? In this interview with LCGC, Marty French, laboratory director of Specialty Analytical, discusses his experience with the Thermo Scientific Dionex ASE Accelerated Solvent Extraction system, a sample preparation instrument that he believes addresses several challenges faced by environmental laboratories.
The interview is about asking customer questions on their use of our ASE or AutoTrace sample preparation system for a particular area of environmental analysis. The interviewee will be telling the interviewer (LCGC editor) what they do using our instrument, their workflow for their routine work, why is it so important to do these analyses, and the challenges and how the instruments help them to achieve what they want.
