Exploring the benefits of dPCR for precise variant evaluation in non-small cell lung cancer research

Digital PCR (dPCR) is an excellent tool for rare mutation analysis applications such as liquid biopsy research because it provides standard curve-free absolute quantification of targets with remarkable precision and sensitivity. Unlike traditional PCR methods, dPCR divides samples into thousands of individual microreactions, then amplifies isolated molecules of target DNA or RNA to endpoint. This helps to isolate even very small amounts of target for improved chances of detection and quantification.

 

With its ability to provide consistent and reproducible results, dPCR emerges as a cornerstone technology in oncology research, offering researchers a reliable tool to help uncover crucial genetic insights.

 

Dr. Yanan Kuang is a Senior Scientist and Project Leader in Translation Research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. In this webinar she presents her work developing multiplexed dPCR assays on the QuantStudio Absolute Q dPCR system for rapid quantification of EGFR and KRAS variant analysis.
