Staining of yeast with LIVE/DEAD® Yeast Viability Kit.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae stained with FUN® 1 cell stain, which generates red-fluorescent intravacuolar structures, and with Calcofluor White M2R, a blue-fluorescent cell wall stain. Both probes are provided in our LIVE/DEAD® Yeast Viability Kit (Cat. No. L7009). FUN® 1 cell stain is also available separately (Cat. No. F7030). A series of z-section images was acquired with a Deltavision wide-field optical sectioning microscope (Applied Precision, Inc.). A three-dimensional projection movie was generated from a deconvolved z-image stack.
