During the installation of FreeStyle 1.7 SP2, there can be occasions where the upgrade and setup process triggers an error regarding system account information.

FreeStyle Windows Setup

This issue is due to some previous Foundation installations which could result in the Xcalibur System user account having a bad state. Follow the instructions below to resolve.

  1. The user must delete the Xcalibur System account:

  1. Reboot the PC
  2. Restart the installation process

You may install FreeStyle 1.7 SP2 or higher on Windows Server. However, FreeStyle is not officially tested and supported on Windows Server.

You can access Qual Browser by going to C:\Xcalibur\system\programs\QualBrowser.exe. Make a shortcut on the desktop for easy access to QB.

We encourage you to upgrade to the latest FreeStyle version. New features and enhancements are included with each rev of FreeStyle. Refer to the release notes and training videos for more information.

FreeStyle installation only requires Foundation. FreeStyle is free of charge. Refer to release notes on required Foundation version for each version of FreeStyle.

This is a known issue. The blank screen is due to a Microsoft Windows issue when accessing during a remote experience; the user interface freezes, and the command for drawing the screen crashes. The workaround is to restart FreeStyle.

This issue is fixed in FreeStyle 1.7 SP2 or higher.
