NIST-Traceability Calibrator Recertification
In order to comply with environmental regulations, ensure you have a sound calibrator certification plan in place. Your calibration certification plan may include your own technicians removing and shipping the calibrator offsite for NIST certification or for sites without a spare calibrator, onsite calibrator certification is the right solution. How to extend the length of recertification using a permeation source
Under the Interim EPA Traceability Protocol, there are four approved methods to quality check a mercury generator: field reference generator, permeation source, sorbent tube and mercury gas cylinder. While each method provides the same level of compliance, the permeation tube method is the best way to extend the certification. The permeation tube generates a known and reliable concentration of mercury at a constant temperature and flow. This allows for automated audits confirming the reliability of the calibrator output.

Achieve NIST Certification at the factory
Your calibration certification plan may include your own technicians removing and shipping the calibrator offsite for NIST certification. Our Calibrator Certification Service compares and validates the Model 81i Mercury Calibrator to a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable Vendor Prime or Field Reference Generator.

Schedule a visit for calibrator certification
For sites without a spare calibrator, onsite calibrator certification is an ideal solution. The Thermo Fisher Scientific Field Service department has the capability to perform an onsite NIST certified calibration for the model 81i. This service removes the burden of uninstalling the calibrator from the Mercury Freedom System and shipping the instrument. At your site, an engineer will install a NIST traceable loaner calibrator to run daily calibrations while your calibrator is being re-certified. When the certification is complete, you will receive copies of documentation used and created for the certification.
