Dead cells often give false positive results, because many reagents will bind to them non-specifically. Therefore, removing dead cells from your flow cytometry data is a critical step to ensure accurate results and analysis. In this section you will find educational resources for analyzing the viability of cells using flow cytometry including application notes, articles, scientific posters, videos, webinars and more.
In this free webinar, we will discuss flow cytometric analysis of apoptosis and identification of dead cells. Changes introduced by apoptosis can be tested with numerous assays measuring membrane structure, mitochondrial function, metabolism, caspase activity, membrane integrity, and DNA fragmentation. We will also discuss dead cell identification using traditional impermeant nucleic acid dyes.
This article provides a review of recently published and extensive guidelines for the use of flow cytometry and cell sorting in immunological studies, as well as an infographic giving tips for key data controls.
