But since these baths are used in nearly any research or production setting, we can tell you - there are some common questions amongst all labs. So we've created some easy ways to digest seemingly complex stuff - so you can get back to your work, fast. Some smart notes worth taking a glance at:
Whether your temperature control unit (TCU) is a water bath, refrigerated/ heated bath circulator, cooling/heating recirculating chiller or recirculating chiller, a fluid will have to be selected. If you are operating between approximately 5ºC and 95ºC, then water seems the likely choice. You might find yourself close to a source of tap water, filtered water, distilled water, reverse osmosis (RO) water, or deionized (DI) water. However, just using the nearest convenient source may not be the right choice. While these water types all have their uses, not all are suitable for your TCU needs. Regardless of how it has been treated, all water starts out with the same basic properties, advantages and disadvantages.
When you need to control the temperature ramping of your application, be sure you have accounted for heat loss, mass, and poor heat transfer. Adding a Boost Heater accessory will give the control you need if your bath circulator cannot maintain the required temperature ramp.
When you need speed, take the proper steps to optimize your application/installation. If your bath circulator cannot attain the required set point within the allotted time, adding a Boost Heater accessory will give you the speed you need.
Size does matter when choosing a bath circulator for your vessels. Be sure to size the bath based on the size of the vessel and the space needed for circulation. Utilizing the available accessories will ensure the perfect fit for your application.
