Researchers use mass spectrometry-based methods for single-cell proteomics, where they can identify and quantify thousands of proteins, proteoforms, and post-translational modifications within each cell. To ensure maximum proteome coverage, scientists employ a label-free, data-independent acquisition (DIA) approach to analyze single-cell proteomes without bias. However, getting started in the single-cell proteomics field is daunting.
In this webinar brought to you by Thermo Fisher Scientific, Runsheng Zheng and Fernanda Salvato discuss the best practices for performing DIA-based single-cell proteomics using Thermo Scientific Orbitrap mass spectrometers.
Runsheng Zhang, Senior Product Specialist, Thermo Fisher Scientific
Runsheng Zheng is a Sr. Product Specialist in the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry group at Thermo Fisher Scientific, focused on developing innovative applications and life science technologies for the market. He received his Ph.D. from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, where he applied LC-MS based proteomics to elucidate the protein-protein interactions. With a strong scientific background in chromatography, mass spectrometry, pharmaceutics, and bioinformatics, Runsheng is a subject matter expert in LC-MS analysis and theory, new separation technologies, multidimensional separations, LC-MS data analysis and data interpretation in proteomics, signaling pathway discovery and validation. He utilizes his passion for translating scientists’ technology and application requirements into novel nano-, capillary-, and micro-flow LC-MS workflows and LC products seamlessly hyphenated with mass-spectrometry instruments.
Fernanda Salvato, Marketing Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific
Fernanda received her PhD. Degree in Genetics from University of Sao Paulo in 2010 where she performed research in plant proteomics. Since then, Fernanda has focused her career on developing proteomic methods in different areas, such as for biotherapeutics characterization, meta proteomics and discovery proteomics. As a vertical marketing manager at Thermo Fisher, Fernanda supports the workflow development for single-cell proteomics.
