The Thermo Scientific™ Model 84i Mercury Permeation Source complements the Mercury Freedom System by periodically assessing and qualifying the constancy of the mercury concentration output from the Thermo Scientific™ Model 81i Mercury Calibrator.
Consider these 5 tips and tricks when using your Model 81i and Model 84i:
Learn how to perform an EPA Audit on your Model 81i Mercury Calibrator by means of the Modbus protocol using the Model 84i Permeation Source.
For detailed instructions see the Performing Automated EPA Audits Technical Note.
The Model 84i mercury permeation source provides a seamless quality control method for customers who are seeking to comply with the US EPA Utility Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS), as well as the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) for mercury monitoring in cement production and industrial boilers.
For detailed instructions see the EPA Traceability Protocol Application Note.
When you first power up the Model 84i Source, it is normal for the permeation gas temperature to go slightly above the high alarm limit of 100°C. This is normal and will come down to 100°C in approximately 24 hours.
Minimize downtime with a proper annual maintenance schedule and a healthy spare parts inventory on hand. We have developed a spare parts list for the Model 84i for your convenience, which includes timing and part numbers for commonly used parts like the mercury scrubber and fan filter. To order parts call Customer Service at (866) 282-0430, option 1 or email orders.aqi@thermofisher.com.
The Thermo Scientific™ Calibrator Certification Service compares and validates the Thermo Scientific™ Model 81i Mercury Calibrator, as well as the Thermo Scientific™ High Level Model 81iH and Low Level Model 81iL Calibrators, to a NIST Traceable Vendor Prime or Field Reference Generator. The service includes:
