Hallmarks for producing therapeutics

The production of therapeutic antibodies and proteins is one of the fastest growing sectors of the pharmaceutical industry, where accuracy and consistency in bioprocessing can pose challenges. From the first discovery of insulin to the most recent ground-breaking therapeutics, we lead the way in partnering with biopharmaceutical companies to improve the efficiency and safety in manufacturing and processing of therapeutic antibodies.

Large Volume Precipitation of Proteins with Ammonium Sulfate Using Thermo Scientific Fiberlite Carbon Fiber Rotors

Ammonium sulfate precipitation is a method of protein purification by altering the solubility of protein. Ammonium sulfate is commonly used due to its high solubility that allows salt solutions with high ionic strength.

Achieving High Titers Using CHO Cells

Although stable Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) transfectants are routinely used for large-scale production of recombinant protein, TGE in CHO cells has historically provided considerably lower amounts of recombinant material for evaluation. This has prompted the use of TGE in higher yielding human embryonic kidney (HEK293) cells to evaluate target proteins before stable CHO transfectants are made.
