Online water quality monitoring is critical for managing a wastewater treatment plant. From risk mitigation from unforeseen events or shock, reducing costs through optimizing dosing and energy use, or ensuring ongoing compliance, online monitoring allows real-time action to be taken in response to real-time events.
Spectrophotometric instruments are robust, low maintenance, and versatile. What sets Real Tech solutions apart is the use of patented and proprietary technologies and novel approaches to overcome the challenges of using light for analysis, especially in challenging matrices, including:
The Controllers also allow the integration of additional non-spectrophotometric sensors, expanding the range of parameters to include Algae, Soaps, Dyes, TSS, DO, pH/ORP, BTEX, Colour, Turbidity, BOD, COD, TOC, DOC, UV254, UVT, NO3, NO2, O3, Polymers, Chromium, Pesticides, Oil in water, Diesel fuel, Surfactants, THM/HAA, Conductivity, Permanganate, Spectral fingerprint, Total Chlorine, Ammonia, and so much more.
Choose from two controller options offering two different operator interfaces. The Real Controller Pro has a 10” colour LCD Touch screen graphical interface and adds ModBus TCP to the standard range of communication options which include Modbus (RS485). This also features optional WIFI, 4–20 mA, and a cellular modem. The Real Controller is a more compact controller with a simplified interface consisting of a 4-line x 20-character backlit LCD and five push buttons to control a comprehensive hierarchical menu system. A controller will be connected to one or more sensors.
Bypass sensors use a pump to draw the sample into the sensor for analysis. The choice of sensor will depend on the number and type of parameters being measured. Sensors range from 2 fixed wavelengths for simple matrices and a limited number of parameters, to full spectral scanning systems for complex matrices and numerous parameters.
Probe sensors are submerged in the sample matrix and connected to a Controller. All Probe sensors benefit from long-life UV LED technology and automatic compressed air cleaning, so stable measurements are obtained with minimal maintenance requirements.

We offer a complete line of accessories to ensure optimal performance and minimal maintenance in any environment, including:
UV254 is a measurement of the amount of light absorbed by organic compounds, specifically aromatic, in a water sample, and uses ultraviolet light at the 254 nm wavelength. UV254 products include:
The Liquid Ai data services bring intelligent insights to any water quality monitoring application. Real Tech combines our advanced data-rich UV-VIS sensors with custom machine learning algorithms to detect and predict a wide array of water quality parameters and compounds in real-time. This includes several parameters traditionally left to the laboratory and difficult to detect compounds that otherwise could not be monitored, such as BOD, COD, black liquor, dyes, soaps, surfactants, and much more.
The Liquid Ai Calibration Health Monitoring service actively monitors your system remotely, enabling continuous calibration improvements to be made as water quality composition changes or new contaminants are introduced. This ensures reliability and trust in your results over the long term to help you make informed decisions to improve plant processes. The longer our systems are installed, the smarter and more insightful they become with Liquid Ai service.
