Nalgene PET and PETG square media bottles

Nalgene Square PET and PETG Media Bottles are the ideal media, sera, buffer, reagent storage, and shipping containers in today’s pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and biotech markets. These durable and lightweight, shatter-resistant polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and heavy-walled, break-resistant glycol modified (PETG) bottles are compatible with high density polyethylene (HDPE) closures creating a leakproof seal across the three compatible closure types; standard screw cap closures, tamper evident closures, and septum closures. The unique Nalgene bottle and closure design requires no liner or gasket to provide repeatable leakproof performance and provides an effective oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier to maintain the appropriate pH of your reagent. These bottles allow you to scale up from research to production, while offering packaging options for lab use or manual and automated filling lines. 

Nalgene media bottles are designed and manufactured to meet the stringent requirements of our safe and leakproof guaranteed containers and are made from only high-quality DMF submitted virgin resins that comply with a number of regulatory specifications including: USP Class VI, USP <661>, and ISO 10993-3. Products are non-cytotoxic, non-pyrogenic, non-mutagenic, and are made with animal derived component free (ADCF)‡ materials to help ensure content purity. Chemicals can affect the strength, flexibility, surface appearance, color, dimensions or weight of plastics so you should carefully choose the appropriate material for your specific use. In general, PET resins are more resistant to dilute acids, aliphatic alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and dry salts in comparison to PETG, while PETG resins are more resistant to detergents and surfactants. Bulk pack packaging bottles

Bottles are packaged in shrink wrapped trays. Trays are either single (2019 series) or double polybagged inside the master carton. Closures are also available in bulk for easy handling.

Table key

30 days of constant exposure causes no damage. Plastic may even tolerate for years.
Little or no damage after 30 days of constant exposure to the reagent.
Some effect after 7 days of constant exposure to the reagent. Depending on the plastic, the effect may be crazing, cracking, loss of strength or discoloration. Solvents may cause softening, swelling and permeation losses with HDPE. The solvent effects on this resin are normally reversible, the part will usually return to its normal condition after evaporation.
Not recommended for the continuous use. Immediate damage may occur. Depending on the plastic, the effect will be a more severe crazing, cracking, loss of strength, discoloration, deformation, dissolution or pemeation loss.
