Alexander S. Hall, PhD, Product Application Specialist, Thermo Fisher Scientific
Microscopy provides cell biologists with the means to see cells and their subcellular structures in context. Measuring what we see informs cell biology experiments. To measure biological activity and experimental facts using electron or light microscopy, it is imperative to employ robust, reproducible software to visualize and analyze multidimensional datasets.
Thermo Scientific Amira Software offers a popular solution for image visualization and analysis. You are empowered to conduct routine and intricate analyses through automated image analysis workflows. In addition to conventional algorithms, Amira Software provides AI-based tools for object segmentation. User-friendly annotation and object interaction tools allow you to create your own workflows and AI models. Amira Software image analysis workflows can be easily automated and reused. This keeps the work reproducible and explainable. In combination, Amira Software is greater than the sum of its parts and well suited to cell microscopy analysis.
In this talk, you will see several examples of how Amira Software’s recently added features assisted with cell microscopy, correlative light and electron microscopy, cryo-electron tomography, and focused ion beam electron microscopy. No previous experience with Amira Software or with image analysis is necessary. There will be time for questions, and the speaker will be available for discussion after the talk.
