The detection of STEC in the production environment and foods before they are consumed is vital for safeguarding public health and essential for preserving the financial health and reputation of food businesses. We offer a range of products and solutions for the detection and identification of Escherichia coli O157 in foods and associated sample types.
A horizontal, culture media-based method for the detection of Escherichia coli O157.
A horizontal, qPCR-based method for the detection of STEC and the determination of O157, O111, O26, O103 and O145 serogroups.
A qPCR-based method for analysis of raw and ready-to-eat meat products and laboratory environmental sponge samples for the seven targeted STEC serogroups (O157, O26, O45, O103, O111, O121 and O145).
A series of culture and qPCR based-methods for the isolation and detection of E. coli 0157.
A rapid real-time PCR method for the detection and differentiation of Escherichia coli O157:H7 and other STEC, in a wide range of food and environmental samples, in as little as 10 hours. The workflow has been granted AOAC Performance Tested Methods(SM) Certification from the AOAC Research Institute and NF Validation™ from AFNOR (ISO 16140-2:2016) for analysis of up to 25 g dairy products and up to 375 g raw meat (excluding poultry) and vegetables.
Samples assessed as positive using the SureTect Escherichia coli O157:H7 and STEC Screening PCR Assay, can be confirmed using this rapid, real-time PCR assay. The assay has been AOAC-RI and AFNOR (ISO 16140-2:2016) validated on a range of food, including low and high sample sizes of raw meat (excluding poultry), vegetables, fruits, juices, and dairy samples.
A rapid, highly-specific real-time PCR method for the detection of E. coli O157:H7. The assay holds AOAC Performance Tested Methods(SM) approval granted by the AOAC Research Institute for analysis of up to 375 g of raw beef meats and fresh produce. The assay is also validated according to ISO 16140-2:2016 and certified by NF Validation™ by AFNOR for analysis of up to 25 g raw meat products and vegetables.
Mistakes in your PCR workflow can lead to false-positive or false-negative results, compromising the accuracy and reliability of the test. With the Thermo Scientific SureTect Automation Workflow you can take your PCR-based STEC testing to the next level with automated lysis and PCR setup. Utilizing the CyBio FeliX Instrument, the automated workflow allows you to reduce hands-on time while increasing the accuracy and reproducibility of results.
