Dialysis Products

Thermo Scientific dialysis devices are available in a variety of dialysis options for the rapid and trouble-free dialysis of sample volumes ranging from 10 μL–250 mL. Unlike traditional dialysis tubing, these innovative devices do not require knots or clips that can lead to leaks and sample loss.

Pierce 96-well Microdialysis Plates and Slide-A-Lyzer Dialysis MINI Devices are excellent for small volumes, Slide-A-Lyzer G3 Dialysis Cassettes are recommended for small to medium volumes, and Slide-A-Lyzer Dialysis Flasks are recommended for larger volumes.

Choose the right dialysis device for your experiment

  • Excellent sample recoveries—low-binding plastic and membrane help minimize sample loss compared to filtration and resin systems
  • Convenient—easy-to-grip format helps simplify sample addition and removal with syringe and/or pipette
  • Secure—sealed membranes help prevent leakage that can occur with dialysis tubing and homemade devices
  • Validated—each device is leak-tested during production

Advantages of Slide-A-Lyzer Dialysis Cassettes over traditional tubing

Dialysis productTraditional tubingCassette
Sample handlingSlippery when wet
Flat tubing is difficult to handle when wet, increasing risk of sample loss during sample addition/removal
Easy handling and secure sample delivery
Plastic frame and cap allow for secure sample addition/removal
Sample recoveryRisk of sample loss
Sample can leak out if clamp becomes loose or falls off
Sample protection
Welded membrane and leak-proof cap helps minimize the risk of sample loss
SpeedTime consuming
Non-optimized design that typically requires overnight dialysis
Fast and efficient
Innovative design with high surface/volume ratio allows for more rapid dialysis than conventional tubing
