Quantitation kit box and individual reagents

Biotin quantitation kits are used for determining biotinylation levels and efficiency by either colorimetric or fluorescence detection methods. These kits contain the simple and accurate HABA dye used to measure the amount of biotin attached to proteins or other biomolecules. Individual fluorescent quantitation reagents are also available for detecting and quantitating biotin-binding sites. Now you can determine the molar ratio of biotin to a labeled antibody molecule in an easy, efficient manner.

Following biotin labeling, the HABA calculator can be used to determine the average number of biotin groups per protein molecule.

Biotin-4-fluorescein. Quantitation of biotin-binding sites with 8 nM biotin-4-fluorescein. Both the fluorescence and absorbance of biotin-4-fluorescein are quenched upon binding to one of the four biotin-binding sites of streptavidin (pink), avidin (dark blue), or the Alexa Fluor 633 streptavidin (orange) and streptavidin, alkaline phosphatase (light blue). As a result, when a known concentration of biotin-4-fluorescein is added to a known amount of streptavidin, one can estimate the number of biotin-binding sites.
