Supporting quantitative proteomics research through mass spectrometry reagent grants

At Thermo Fisher Scientific we are excited to evolve our Tandem Mass Tag Research Grant Program to the Quantitative Proteomics Research Grant Program. This program provides up to $11,000 USD of Thermo Scientific mass spectrometry reagents to qualifying doctoral or post-doctoral students who are using or plan to use mass spectrometry in their quantitative proteomics research.

Quantitative Proteomics Research Grant Program overview

The Thermo Scientific Quantitative Proteomics Research Grant Program will award two eligible doctoral or post-doctoral students with reagent awards. Applications will be accepted from January 22, 2024 through April 19, 2024. See official rules below for detailed eligibility requirements. Applicants are asked to send in research proposals that demonstrate how they will use Thermo Scientific mass spectrometry reagents to advance their quantitative proteomic research. The two grant recipients will be selected by a panel of judges based on the recipient’s innovative and impactful intended use of Thermo Scientific reagents for use in quantitative proteomics research. Award recipients will be recognized during a Thermo Scientific sponsored event at ASMS in Anaheim, CA June 2–6, 2024.

The panel of judges will evaluate applications based on the following criteria, each worth 25% of the total score.

  1. Scientific merit: Use of novel applications for discovery or targeted quantitative proteomics to achieve their goals by using Thermo Scientific mass spectrometry reagents listed in the eligibility criteria.
  2. Significance of use of Thermo Scientific mass spectrometry reagents: How using Thermo Scientific mass spectrometry reagents will further the research.
  3. Approach: How clear and well developed is the proposed use of the Thermo Scientific mass spectrometry reagents to address the questions at hand and what instrumentation is available for analysis.
  4. Equipment: Use of Thermo Fisher Scientific mass spectrometry instruments in their application proposal.
